Don is a native Cape Codder who grew up in Falmouth, and attended Falmouth Public schools. After high school he entered “World University” as he jokingly describes it. There is always another semester, and it can be very expensive. However, it has allowed him to travel extensively, meet many interesting people, and be jack of many trades. His greatest ongoing accomplishment is his family. They are his wife Frances and their two children Sarah & Liam.
As a professional musician for over 30 yrs, Don has been surrounded by many talented people both musically and artistically. His goal when he purchased What A Grind sharpening service in 2013 was to expand the business to include those kindred spirits of music and art and conversation. It would be a HUB of positive activity.
On May 7, 2016 What A Grind @ the Hub will open it’s doors to the public. The new location will carry on it’s tradition of quality sharpening service and feature an art gallery for local Cape Cod artisans. There will be a new retail display of many quality knives for the discerning chef, fisherman, and hunter alike. There will also be a weekly “after hours” gathering on a sign up basis for small classes covering a variety of skills, topics, and just meeting interesting people. They have a very nice stereo as well….but no band……………………yet!
